先月から、依然として反政府騒動が止まらないバンコク。
ここ数日における反政府デモによる各地の影響は現在さらに広がりつつあり、日系関連のイベント行事なども次々と中止を発表している。バンコクの一部では電話・インターネットも切断され、死亡者も出たことから緊迫した状況が続いている。
そんな無政府状態と言われている現在のタイの政府に対し、アメリカの大手メデイアイギリスの国営放送BBCが現首相との単独インタビューを行いました。自体が激化し解決策が見当たらない状況に戸惑いを隠せない首相、それに対してさらにツッコミを入れるインタビューア。
3分近くの映像ですが、現在のインラック首相の胸中が映し出されています。

[highlight]インラック首相：[/highlight]私は全体の中の一部に認められていないかも知れませんが、他の大多数はまだ私達をサポートしているので、そして全てのポリシーを実行して国を動かしていますが、ともかく選挙で出た結果でもあります。
この一つのポイントが、私達政府が人々を満たしている事を伝えているのが、民主主義である事だと思います。私は、これがならなければならない事、これが正しい道だと思います。そしてその選挙からの道を歩んだ結果、選ばれたのが今、私達の政府なので、民主主義が私達を監視し、判断、そして評価する事が出来ると思います。
I would say that some group of the people might not accept us but, please ask for the many of the group of the people because the majority of some or some also support us because I think we also doing all the policy and running the country but anyway it came from the election. I think this is the one thing that the way to tell that this government satisfies the people is democracy. I think this is the way, that this should be. So that’s why myself and my government we came from the election and democracy has the process to monitor and to be judged and to evaluate myself that better I should be in this place or not.
[highlight]BBC：[/highlight]まあ、それでしたら、何故直ぐにでも新しい選挙を起こさないのでしょうか？
Well in that case then why don’t you call a new election now?
[highlight]インラック首相：[/highlight]状況が停止してしまったら、でも今の状況は、まだ止まっていないと思います。我々は、今現在について、対話を開く事でどの様な事態に陥っても民主主義を貫き通し、どんな事が起きても平和を維持し続け、どんな事が在っても法律によって基づいたルールを守る事が正しい答えだと思ってます。
If the situation stops, but now the situation is not stop so please I think right now that’s why we open the dialogue so whatever we will keep the democracy, whatever we will keep the peaceful way whatever we will keep followed by the rule of law that will be the right answer.
[highlight]BBC：[/highlight]それでしたら、今は新しい選挙を起こしませんが、後程実行するとの事でしょうか？
So you don’t want to call an election now, but maybe later.
[highlight]インラック首相：[/highlight]要は、新しい選挙を起こすとしても、抗議を起こしている人がそれで納得するのかを確かめる必要があると言う事です。
If you call with the election, we have to ask that to the protester will be satisfied or not.
[highlight]BBC：[/highlight]確かに納得とまでは行かないかも知れませんが、今溜まっているプレッシャーを少しでも出し、人々の焦点は選挙運動に向けられる為、良い解決策では無いのでしょうか？
They might not be, but if called an election it would take some of the pressure out, people would focus on campaigning. Wouldn’t that be a good solution right now.
[highlight]インラック首相：[/highlight]私達は、状況を見ていますが、先ずは国の政府として稼動していなければならない義務があるので、我々は最初にこれをクリアする事が大切です。よって、現状を先ず抑える事が必要で、政府として稼動可能と言う状況を作った上で国の事情、そしてどうやって今後動かすかと言う事が出来ると思います。
I think we have to see the situation and I think right now the situation need to contain and make sure that the government can go on and run, so if we can clear this first and we can stop and make sure the government can run so we discuss and how we can handle the country, how we can move forward.
[highlight]BBC：[/highlight]これらの抗議や活動がこのまま続きますと、ある段階からそれらに対して『力』、つまり武力行使を行う必要が出てくると思います。現在では、警察に民衆を取り押さえる為の武力行使を行う必要があると御考えでしょうか？
If these protests carry on this way, will you at some stage have to use force against them, deploy the police use much tougher methods do you think?.
[highlight]インラック首相：[/highlight]いいえ、私は・・・私達は、警察が今の状況に対処できていると思（ＢＢＣ：只今の状況では、警察は何もせず、完全に見守っている状況になっておりますが。）うので、いえ、この様な状況は非常に敏感でもあるので、法律に従って対応する必要が御座います。
その様な点から直ぐに対処して間違った行動を起こして人々を怒らせない様、政府として我々の立ち位置を示し、警察を警察として動けるようにする為にもステップを踏んだ対処をする必要があると思います。先ずは、ネゴシエーション(交渉）からだと思います。
No I.. we think the police can handle with the situation because (BBC : They’re not handling it, they’re just backing-off completely aren’t they the police are doing nothing at the moment) No, I think because we don’t want to confront we are using the law, so that’s why we don’t want just only like we do some make but move forward and make people (un)happy so we have to be careful because this situation is very sensitive. It doesn’t mean that the government just backs-off but I think that we have our position and standpoint and let the policemen follow the step-by-step for the first step the negotiation.
[highlight]BBC：[/highlight]貴女の位置から想定しますと、やはり相当なプレッシャーが掛かっている事と察しております。時折、このお仕事を辞めて普通の仕事をすれば良かった、あるいはもう諦めようとか、考えになられた事は在りますでしょうか？そうしたら、プレッシャーも無いでしょうし、虐待を受けたりする事も無いと思いますが。
Given how much pressure there is on you, why didn’t you just give up the job and go back and do a business job. You would get much less pressure, much less abuse.
[highlight]インラック首相：[/highlight]私にとって一番大切なのは今のこの政府が選挙によって選ばれた政府である事が挙げられます。なので、違法または非民主主義的な方法でこのシステムを絶望させたくないと・・・（ＢＢＣ：だから、この御仕事をされて疲れた事は無かったのでしょうか？）なので、ちゃんとシステムが今後も動いていく事を確かめる必要があります。
The most important thing that my government came from elections so I don’t want other way that unlawful or un-democracy would be disappoint the system (BBC : But didn’t you get tired of doing the job) so that’s why we need to make sure the system still go on.
[highlight]BBC：[/highlight]しかし、仕事をされて飽きたりはしないのですか？ 。時折、『もう十分やりました』とか、『もう精一杯やる遂げました。今は、他の事をしたいと思います。』と思ったり、考えたりはしないのでしょうか？
But don’t you get tired of doing the job?. Don’t you think sometimes “This is enough” or “I’ve given it enough now. I want to do something else”
[highlight]インラック首相：[/highlight]いいえ。これは、総理大臣の仕事だと思います。国が平和であり続ける事を守るのが勤めであり、『疲れた』等とは言っていられない状況だと思います。そして、私は我々が今後も維持し、戦わなければならない一つの事が民主… （ＢＢＣ側が諦めたのか、途中で切れる…）
No I think this is the job of the Prime minister. Have to make sure that the part country with the peaceful but I think myself I devote myself for the country so I’m not being tired, I will not be(bring) upset but I think only one thing that we have to fight for remain democracy…
